March Mayhem Comes to a Close

DUKE BLUE WIN CHAMPIONSHIP!

Duke outran the Arizona team on Monday night as they played their way to a 82-72 victory over Arizonza and a third National title.

Behind a commanding second half from Michael Dunleavy who hit three 3-pointers in 43 seconds to open the second half, Duke created a nice buffer between Arizona. Dunleavy hit a all time career high of five three pointers throughout his 21 point show.

Shaun Battier, despite a rough game on average, also had clutch points at the end of the game for the Devils. Battier through a few down to hold the egde on the Wildcats in the closing minutes of the second half. Jason Williams also had a rough night going 5-15 from the field and adding just 15 points.

Arizona was led by Loren Woods with 22 points but was not enough for Duke answered every basket with their own.

Duke hit 47% from the field, well above and beyond the 38%  put up by Arizona's past opponents. Arizona shot for 39%, far from the 50%  level it had been playing at.

Dukes championship win now puts the Blue Devil's coach, Mike Krzyzewski, into an elite group of coaching masterminds.
